EAS, LLC recently completed work with the City of Hamilton as the business enterprise for a civil engineering project grant award from the Ohio Department of Natural Resources. The grant provided funding for the replacement of concrete sidewalks damaged by tree roots. The replacement sidewalks were manufactured using recycled rubber from discarded scrap tires. The use of the replacement rubber sidewalks allowed the mature street trees to remain in place.

EAS Manager, Tom Walsh attended the Air and Waste Management Association's 96th Annual Conference & Exhibition in San Diego, CA in June 2003. He presented a paper entitled "Do Green Buildings Sell." The paper examines buildings constructed in a local area for energy efficiency and the use of environmentally friendly products.

Tom also presented a paper entitled "Proposed Communication System Provides Real-Time Weather Information During Snow/Ice Events" at the Midwest Extreme and Hazardous Weather Regional Conference on October 17-18, 2003 in Champaign, IL. The paper proposed a communication system network using weather stations, the Internet, and cell phones to solve travel problems during unexpected snow/ice events in Midwest metropolitan areas.
